Watercolor on Canvas Workshop 8/19 & 8/26
Join us for a two-part workshop exploring the unique world of watercolor on canvas. Over the course of a total of six hours, you'll learn how to adapt your watercolor practice to this textured, absorbent surface while building expressive, layered paintings. We’ll cover foundational techniques and talk about how canvas can shift your approach to watercolor in exciting ways.
Some prior watercolor experience is recommended.
The first session you will learn, play and explore on the new surface and begin to decide on and plan what you will want to paint on the stretched surface during the next session.
You will need to bring 1-2 of your own stretched YES! canvases or YES! canvas panels to the second class. They can be between 8×10 and 16×20. Please don’t being larger to ensure we have enough space at the table.
Canvas scraps will be provided along with paints. If you want to play with your own paints and brushes feel free to bring them.
Tuesdays, August 19th and 26th
9:30-12:30
